JUST IN: Comer Opens Probe Into Hunter Biden’s Art Sales After Dem Megadonor Revealed As Buyer

(trendingpoliticsnews) – House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-KY) has opened an investigation into Hunter Biden’s lucrative art sales after a report from Business Insider revealed that one substantial buyer received a prestigious promotion from President Biden.

Elizabeth Hirsh Naftali, a Los Angeles real estate investor and prominent Democratic Party donor, was recently named as a buyer in Hunter Biden’s $1.3 million art sales. Naftali is an active donor in California Democratic circles who has donated $13,414 to the Biden campaign and $29,700 to the Democratic National Campaign Committee just this year. In 2022, she hosted a fundraiser for Vice President Kamala Harris.

In July of last year — eight months after Hunter Biden’s first art gallery — President Biden announced Naftali’s appointment to the Commission for the Preservation of America’s Heritage Abroad. “Membership on the commission is an unpaid position that is often filled by campaign donors, family members, and political allies — the same crowd that often winds up with US ambassadorial appointments. Hirsh Naftali’s fundraising activities mark her as the kind of well-connected donor who often wins such appointments, regardless of any relationship they might have with the president’s family,” the outlet reported. “But they do not address the possibility that Hunter Biden might have voiced his support for her appointment.”

It is unknown if Hirsh’s purchase occurred before or after her appointment to the commission, though Comer is demanding answers.

“The White House has stated that ‘Hunter Biden would be walled off from knowing the identities of his buyers in an attempt to separate his business dealings from his father’s administration.’ Abbe Lowell, Hunter Biden’s lawyer, told reporters that the gallery ‘does not disclose the names of any purchasers to Mr. Biden.’ This system, however, seems to have failed, because Elizabeth Hirsh Naftali’s identity as a purchaser of this art has become public,” Comer wrote.

A press release issued on Tuesday further revealed that Naftali has visited the White House at least 13 times since December 2021. “The Committee is concerned Hunter Biden has used his new career as an artist to peddle influence in and access to the White House,” Comer continued.

In addition to Naftali, Hunter Biden’s team reportedly knew the identity of at least two additional buyers despite denials from the White House. One mystery buyer purchased more than $875,000 of Hunter Biden’s art. The documents obtained by Business Insider do not reveal the buyer’s identity, however.
